LAKEVILLE, Minn. — Winona distance runner earned a trip to the MSHSL Class AA Boys State Track and Field Championships with a second-place finish in the 3,200 meter run at Thursday’s Section 1AA Track and Field Meet at Lakeville South High School.

Briggs finished the 3,200 in 9:27.38 while teammate Colten Brand was fourth in 9:35.25. Both will also compete in the 1,600 on Saturday.

Anni Skillicorn was fourth in the girls 3,200, finishing in 11:49.45.

Winona’s Marquetta Berlin Burns posted the fastest prelim time in both the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash, running the 100 in 12.42 seconds and the 200 in 25.64.

Teammate Anissa Lee was second behind Berlin Burns in the 200 in 25.80 and was fourth in the 100 in 12.65.

Terell Hall qualified for the finals in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash, finishing eighth in both. He ran the 100 in 11.39 seconds and the 200 in 23.12

Chloe Hughes moved on to the finals in the 300 meter hurdles with an eighth place finish and a time of 49.01 seconds.
