CANNON FALLS, Minn. — Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson’s Jacob Anderson finished seventh after a stellar second day at the Section 1AA Boys Golf Tournament on Thursday at Cannon Golf Club in Cannon Falls, Minn.
Anderson entered the second round in sixth place after shooting an 82 in Round 1 and improved on his score on Thursday, shooting an 80 for a complete tournament score of 162.
Red Wing’s Cecil Belise posted the tournament’s top score with a 139.
L-A/R-P’s Zach Anderson and Jeremiah Hines were right behind Jacob Anderson after Round 1, each shooting 83, but fell a bit off the pace on Day 2, finishing with scores of 170 and 174 good for 13th and 18th. Andrew Hoiness finished 33rd with a 185 and Mason Kelly was 41st with a 197.
L-A/R-P’s Anna Hennessy finished 11th at the Section 1AA Girls Golf Tournament held Thursday at Cannon Golf Club in Cannon Falls, Minn.
Henenssy was in prime position to make a run at a berth in the MSHSL Class AA State Girls Golf Tournament after finishing the first day in sixth place with an 82. But the tournament’s second day didn’t go as she would have liked, as she shot a 96 and finished the tournament with a two-round score of 178.
Red Wing’s Leah Herzog won the tournament with a 140, while her teammate Sophie Yeomans was second with a 141.
L-A/R-P’s Lexi Reps carded identical rounds of 95 in the first and second rounds and finished in 21st with a 190. Lilli Reps was 35th with a 210 (105, 105). And Alexa Agin was 37th with a 214 (104, 110).
St. Charles’ Emma Cage was 29th with a 204 (102). Linsey Otterson was 38th with a 215 (112, 103).
