Kaelah Simmons

Kaelah Simmons holds her winning design for the 2019 Steamboat Days button during an unveiling in February at Winona Senior High School.

Winona Steamboat Days 2019 buttons are now on sale at most Winona convenience stores, retailers, restaurants, Midtown Foods and Hy-Vee.

With an advance button purchase of $5 attendees can register to win great prizes donated by a variety of area merchants. This year the grand prize is a picnic table donated by Anova Furnishings.

The 2019 button was designed by Kaelah Simmons, a junior at Winona Senior High School. Steamboat Days also awarded second place to Linette Sheehan, junior, and third place to Caitlin Curtin, a freshman at Winona Senior High.

A Steamboat Days button purchase helps provide free events and activities for the festival, such as the BMX bike show, Kid Power Pedal Pull, TC Hatter Mime, Grande Parade and the fireworks show.

Carnival ride wristbands are also available for sale at Hy-Vee and Midtown Foods Service counters.

Wristbands are $20 in advance and $25 at the carnival. Wristbands are good Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., Friday 1 to 6 p.m., Saturday 1 to 10 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 7 p.m.

Button and wristband advance sales go through Tuesday, June 11. The festival is June 12-16.
