A look at what’s going on in and around Winona this weekend:

Steamboat Days

Winona’s famous festival is finally here. If you haven’t been able to swing downtown to visit Steamboat Days in its new Levee Park location yet this week, take some time this weekend.

One exciting must-see is the Budweiser Clydesdales, who are stabled in the parking lot off of Second and Center streets and will be making an appearance at Sunday’s parade. With their popularity and busy schedule, they likely won’t be back in Winona anytime soon, so head to the tent and see them and their sweet canine companion, Bud, when you can. Visiting hours are 4 to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 3 to 10 p.m. Sunday.

If you want to head away from the downtown fray, Home and Community Options is presenting their annual musical, “My Fair Lady,” at Saint Mary’s Page Theatre as a part of Steamboat Days. Cast and crew members of all abilities are telling the story of Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle with three performances you can catch this weekend: Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 5 p.m.

For auto and bike enthusiasts, the car show will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. on Third Street from Main to Franklin, and the BMX shows are at 7 and 8:30 p.m. at the Levee.

And as always, Sunday’s Grande Parade will kick off on Broadway at 12:01 p.m., followed by fireworks later in the evening over the Mississippi River. For the full lineup of events you can catch this weekend, including live music and lots of food, visit winonasteamboatdays.com.
