A look at what’s going on this weekend in and around Winona:
Third annual Free Music Winona
Broken World Records on East Third Street is hosting its third year of Free Music Winona, Minnesota, a chance to see several local and regional artists without needing a ticket, wristband or cover charge.
The event, which started Thursday night, will take place 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday, all at Broken World Records. Groups including Unity the Band, Left Lane Cruiser, the Heaping Spoonfuls and Deathless Dogs will play.
In addition to donation boxes in several locations, FMWM will donate 5% of sales to a local charity that will be decided by a poll on the event’s Facebook page.
Since the shows are free, event organizers ask that event-goers buy a drink (non-alcoholic drinks will be available) to show support.
Easter egg hunt at Elmaro Vineyard
If you’re up for venturing to the Wisconsin side of the river to hunt for some Easter eggs this weekend, you’re in luck.
Elmaro Vineyard in Trempealeau will host its annual Easter egg hunt Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The various egg hunts will be appropriate for all ages, including babies. All children will receive prizes, and cookies and hot cocoa will be available for purchase.
Musician and local favorite Hans Mayer will perform popular children’s music immediately after the event at 10:30 a.m.

Mid West Music Fest: May 3-4

This year's festival was pushed back a couple weeks to hopefully avoid the weather that has plagued previous years. It should be a good move. The festival will get a chance to take advantage of a new venue in Levee Park. The La Crosse portion of the fest will take place May 17-18.
Touch a Truck and Play Streets: May 11

Winona Municipal Band Concerts: Wednesday nights, June through August.

Trinona: June 8-9
Trinona athletes run into Lake Winona in 2016 as they begin the swimming portion of the event before biking and later running to finish the race. Trinona, southern Minnesota's destination triathlon, has events all day Saturday, June 8, including a kids triathlon and a multisport expo. The main event is Sunday morning. Steamboat Days: June 12-16
The sun begins to set on Steamboat Days on Wednesday evening in 2018. Winona's largest community festival is back for another year and will be able to take advantage of Levee Park for this year's celebration.
Steamboat Kiddie Days Parade: Friday, June 14
Steamboat Days Kiddie Parade clowns greet the crowds gathered at Lake Park in 2018. One of the best events for kids all year, the Kiddie Parade at Lake Park features a smaller version of the Grande Parade a few days later — plus it comes with a concert and a $1 hot dog lunch.

Great River Shakespeare Festival: June 25 to Aug. 4

The 16th season of the Great River Shakespeare Festival runs from June 25 through Aug. 4 and will feature “Macbeth,” “Cymbeline,” “The Servant of Two Masters,” “No Child…” and “White Rabbit Red Rabbit.”
Winona Craft Beer Tour: June 29

Minnesota Beethoven Festival, June 30 to July 21

Goodview Days: Aug. 16-18
The Winona Middle School Marching band moves down Sixth Street for the Goodview Days parade in 2017. This year's festival runs from Aug. 16-18 and includes the popular Goodview Gallop run on Aug. 17.
Big Muddy Brew 'N Que: Aug. 31-Sept. 1
