These articles are great reminders for residents and foster great memories for past residents. Winona was a great town to grow up in!


Don't forget J.R. Watkins. Remember the Watkins man? They were based in Winona. The building has some nice stained glass.

Along with WSU, St. Mary's University should have also been featured. I took its omission to be at least a few degree of bias.


Yes! Thanks goodness we have a long history of commercial and passenger trains in this. Trains helped build and transform our lovely town. But for Pete's sake, when are we going to build an overpass at one or more of our main arteries to save time and possibly lives?


Conveniently they forgot: TRAINS
Having to wait for trains define Winona more than anything else on this list.
