Winona author Gary Evans is the latest guest on Winona 1-on-1, a podcast from Winona Daily News editor John Casper Jr.

Evans is a former Daily News editor as well, but later went on to serve as president and CEO of HBC, in various administration roles at Winona State and now works for a private equity firm in New York City.

Evans has finished his third book, "Death by Payback," the third in a series that includes "Death by Drowning" and "Death by Poison." He's on a book tour this weekend, which includes stops in La Crosse and Winona. The full schedule is below.

Evans discussed his book, as well as his time at the Winona Daily News, the joy of traveling and what he hopes Winona will become in the next 5-10 years.
