Samuel Thomas Spadino is escorted out of the Mayo Civic Center arena in Rochester for yelling "dad" repeatedly during President Donald Trump's rally Thursday night. Spadino has a history of being ejected from Trump rallies.

ROCHESTER — A Minneapolis man with a history of being thrown out of Trump rallies was arrested Thursday night after police said he repeatedly yelled “dad.”

Samuel Thomas Spadino, 36, has been charged in Olmsted County District Court with obstructing the legal process, trespassing and two counts of disorderly conduct. Spadino is being held at the Adult Detention Center at the request of the Secret Service, which could potentially be filing federal charges, according to Rochester Police Lt. Mike Sadauskis.

Spadino was removed from Mayo Civic Center shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sadauskis said Spadino kept standing up and repeatedly screaming “dad.” The president’s security attempted to escort Spadino out but he resisted, Sadauskis said. Rochester Police were called to assist.

In addition to Spadino, nine other people were kicked out of the Civic Center, Sadauskis said. Those nine people were not criminally charged.

In June 2018, Spadino interrupted a Trump rally held in Duluth. Spadino held up a photo of Trump with his former friend Jeffrey Epstein, a disgraced billionaire financier and convicted pedophile. Trump responded to Spadino, who sports what is commonly referred to as a man-bun, telling him to “go home to your mom, darling.” Trump also questioned whether Spadino was a man or a woman “because he needs a haircut more than I do.”

Court records do not indicate if charges were filed in that matter.

At his appearance in Olmsted County District Court Friday morning on the charges, Spadino pleaded not guilty, according to court records. A jury trial is scheduled for Jan. 28, 2019, in front of Judge Pamela King.
