A Lewiston man is facing two felony sexual assault charges after a report to law enforcement Sunday accused him of sexually assaulting a girl younger than 16, with whom he had a significant relationship, over a number of years.
Omar Castillo Badillo, 42, made his first appearance in Winona County District Court Tuesday. If convicted on both charges, Badillo could face up to 60 years in prison.
According to the criminal complaint, the girl told deputies that the assaults began in 2015 and that there was a timeframe in which Badillo sexually assaulted her daily. She also recalled a specific date in 2018 and earlier in July 2019 that he had assaulted her, the complaint says.

The girl told deputies that on July 21, Badillo came home from work, entered her room wearing only underwear and began to touch her inappropriately. He then took his underwear off and raped her, according to the complaint.
She texted a friend to tell what had happened and the friend came to Badillo’s residence, where deputies were called shortly after. Initially, they were told assistance was not needed, the complaint says, but were contacted again later that day and told there was a custody dispute.
The deputies were notified of the sexual assault allegations and that Badillo had a significant relationship with the girl, according to the complaint.
Badillo’s bail is listed at $150,000 with no conditions.
