The Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) class of 2021 at Winona Senior High School will be donating “Blessing Bags” for their community service project for 2019.

Blessing bags include hygiene products such as shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and other necessity items. These Blessing Bags will be donated to children and young adults in need in the WAPS district. The finishing touches are being put on the bags now, and are planned to be done and brought around to WAPS schools by the end of the year to be ready for the fall next school year.

The AVID class thought this would be a great way to give back to the students of the WAPS community. Jack Herczeg, an AVID peer tutor said, “It gives people who don’t have access to these products at home the opportunity to have the hygiene products they need for free.”
