The Winona Area Quilters Guild has generously made another beautiful queen-sized quilt for the Winona County Historical Society to raffle off. This year’s quilt is called “Orion Star” and made of Batik fabric in colors reminiscent of the northern lights featuring a star design. It was machine-quilted by WCHS member and volunteer, Mary Nelson.
The quilt is in the History Center’s Slaggie Family Lobby for viewing and will also be at the Rural Heritage Museum during the Winona County Fair, July 10-14. Chances to win are only $1 each and are available at the History Center or by phone, 507-454-2723. The drawing will be held at the History Center on December 8 at 4 p.m. during the Old Fashioned Family Christmas Festival. The winner need not be present to win.
