The Winona County Historical Society’s summer fundraiser is coming up on Friday, June 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Winona County History Center.

What better way to support your local history than indulging in chocolate-inspired desserts, which will include chocolate-dipped strawberries, coconut macaroons and much more from local restaurants, caterers and bakeries. Also enjoy some crisp bubbly champagne with the option of adding a variety of fruit nectars. We will hear the soft sounds of The Heart Strings, a local harp group, then, at 8 p.m. get a fun first look at the Great River Shakespeare Festival season and mingle with the actors and crew.

Other beverages will be available, and also remember to bring some $5 bills for chances at the famous grand prize gift basket drawing. New WCHS Executive Director Genia Hesser will be present to meet members and the public.

Tickets are available at the History Center, online or at the door for $25 members and $30 for the public.

Winona’s unofficial summer kick-off party is sponsored by WNB Financial.
