Winona Area Public Schools is pleased to announce Ann Riebel as the new director of Community Education.

Riebel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in child psychology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and a Master of Teaching and Learning from the Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Riebel returned to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities to obtain her Director of Community Education licensure.

In addition to teaching as a parent educator with Winona Area Public Schools for over 14 years, Riebel has also served as the district’s early childhood family education coordinator. Riebel brings a wealth of knowledge specific to our community and the WAPS family base.

In a press release, the district said it is excited to acknowledge her teacher leadership experience in this promotion and welcomes her to the administrative team.

“I am looking forward to continuing my career with Winona Area Public Schools as Director of Community Education,” Riebel said. “The community of Winona has a rich history in Community Education and I appreciate the opportunity to continue and grow the program options for all of our learners.”

Riebel will officially begin her new position within WAPS on July 1.
