GOLD CANYON, Ariz. — Marie Feltz, 76, of Gold Canyon died Friday, April 26, 2019, in her home.
Marie E. Gappa was born Nov. 28, 1942, to Clarence and Leone (Thrune) Gappa in Winona. Marie attended Cotter High School in Winona. After graduation, she went to St. Mary’s Nursing School in Rochester, Minn. On Nov. 28, 1964, she married Edmund J. Feltz in Winona.The couple moved from Winona to Mesa, Ariz., in 1980 and raised their family in Mesa. Marie balanced working as a nurse, at Desert Samaritan Hospital and raising her children. Upon retirement, Marie and Edmund traveled the country in an RV before settling back down in Arizona, to be by family. She was an avid reader, navigation expert, crossword puzzle connoisseur, traveler and found no greater joy than spending time with her family.

Marie is survived by her husband, Edmund of Gold Canyon; two children, Beth (Mark) Penovich and Anthony Feltz; eight grandchildren, Lukas (Krista) Penovich, Ashton Feltz, Logan Penovich, Houston Feltz, Bailey (Neysa) Penovich, Dakota Veenhuis, Madison Feltz and Aspen Veenhuis; two great-grandchildren, Braiden and Elodie; and one sister, Barbara (Robert) Wieczorek. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Glenn and Allen; and one sister, Dianne.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. May 10, at St. Casimir’s Church, Winona. Lunch will follow.
