LA CRESCENT, Minn. — Donna Mae Kasten, 87, of La Crescent passed away Monday, July 2, 2018, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

She was born Nov. 29, 1930, in La Crosse, to Louis and Hulda (Brumm) Monk. Donna retired from Trane Co., after 34 years of service. She was a member of the Red Hatters in Caledonia, Minn., and First Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crescent.

Donna had a love of life. She was very adventurous and ready to go at a moments notice, with a positive attitude and a welcoming smile. She never met a stranger and everyone became a friend.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah (Anthony) Bigos of Troy, Ohio, Pamela Mason of La Crosse and Karla (Daniel) Koch of La Crescent; six grandchildren, Steve, Rachel, Drew, Danielle, Will and Elisabeth; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Kate, Philip, Hannah and Noah; one brother, Fred (Maureen) Monk of La Crosse; and two nieces and one nephew, Lori, Brian and Jennifer. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Steven Curtis Meyer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 414 Main St., La Crescent. Pastor Chris Christensen will officiate. Burial will be in the Mormon Coulee Memorial Park, La Crosse. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crosse Chapel, 200 West Ave. S., and again from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church.
