Summary: The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) functions
as a collaborative team member under the supervision of the
RN in performing delegated medical and nursing functions. The
EMT assists in the treatment and care of all patients of all ages in
accordance with established policies, protocols, and standards to
provide quality care in Emergency Services.
Education and Learning: Required High School Diploma or
Work Experience: Required No experience required.
License and Certifications: Required.-National Registry
Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (NREMT) or National
Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (NREMT-P)
or Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B)
If working in Minnesota an Emergency Medical Technician
- Minnesota (EMT-MN) is required. Current American Heart
Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR certification; Heart
Saver, Rescue and Military training network CPR; or the American
Red Cross CPR certification (CPR) except Citizen and Animal
