Winona County leaders made a few last-minute additions Tuesday to their office-expansion project before construction begins later this month.
The Winona County Board added about $90,000 in temperature-control and fire-prevention features to their plan to expand the county's Third Street Office Building, approved by commissioners last week. Tuesday's additions were approved along the same lines as last week's vote: 3-2, with commissioners Jim Pomeroy and Marcia Ward opposed.
A construction manager for the project said he's currently obtaining permits for it. Groundbreaking for the 18,600-square-foot addition should follow in about three weeks, he said.
