ST. PAUL, Minn. - Three Democrats who could be governor are squaring off in their final televised debate before the Aug. 10 primary.
The debate at KSTP-TV features former U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton, former state Rep. Matt Entenza and House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher.
The station broadcasts the event live at 6 p.m. today.
The three are competing for the chance to face Republican state legislator Tom Emmer and an Independence Party candidate in November. GOP Gov. Tim Pawlenty is finishing his final term and exploring a run for president.
Kelliher has the DFL Party endorsement, while Dayton and Entenza have been drawing on family wealth to run campaigns.
The primary is a month earlier than usual under a new law, and turnout is expected to be on the low side.
