BUFFALO CITY, Wis. — A Buffalo County woman fired multiple shots at intruders to end a reported home invasion suspected to be a targeted assault, according to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department.

The woman was in her Buffalo City residence near the city ball park about 5 a.m. Friday when two men forceably entered the rear door of the residence, assaulted the woman, and threatened her with a knife, according to the department. The woman fired multiple shots from a handgun at the two men, causing them to flee, the department said.

Investigators believe the incident was isolated and not random, the department said, and continues to investigate. The name of the woman has not been released.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 608-685-4433.

You get a Adrenaline Rush in a situation like this. You're muscles tighten you get tunnel vision. At least she defended her self and scared them away. No telling what they might have done to her.

Great reporting WDN. This happened Friday? Seriously? Quite the news organization. Hope the people in the area weren't in any danger cuz you wouldn't have helped. Buy guns and ammo everyone....guns are great. Really safe too if you fire multiple shots and still don't hit your target. Sounds like a safe and responsible gun-owner. At least a cop didn't kill someone, coming though with the attitude and military mentality the cops display around here.
And, if you tell me you didn't have the report until today, What does that say about our police protection? They didn't even think people in the area should know? Or was your staff too busy taking pictures over the weekend to post it until today?
