11:53 p.m. - Police cited Joseph Gerald Brunn, 19, and Samuel Phillip Hines, 20, both of Rogers, Minn., for underage drinking after an officer saw them holding open containers of beer at King and Center streets.


12:39 a.m. - Police cited Zachary Charles Hanson, 20, Rochester, Minn., for underage drinking after an officer observed him stumbling in the Law Enforcement Center parking lot, then attempt to steal a bicycle from a nearby rack. Hanson's preliminary breath test measured 0.265 percent; he was taken to detox.

1:09 a.m. - Police cited Christian Kirby Pytlik, 19, Menomonie, Wis., for underage drinking after officers were called to a residence on the 500 block of West King street on a report of a stranger knocking on a door. Pytlik appeared confused, officers said, and his preliminary breath test measured 0.147 percent. He was taken to detox.

2:19 a.m. - Police cited Joseph Howard Barron, 18, Oakdale, Minn., for underage drinking and public urination after observing him peeing on a building on the 50 block of Johnson Street.

2:37 a.m. - Christopher Michael Johnson, 28, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree drunken driving second-degree test refusal, and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle following a traffic stop at Fourth and Winona streets. An officer observed Johnson enter Winona from the interstate bridge, cross the centerline, then fail to signal a turn, according to police. Johnson failed field sobriety tests, and refused a breath test.

11:14 p.m. - Joshua Eusebio Balmores, 21, Dassel, Minn., was cited for disorderly conduct after an officer at the intersection of Huff and 11th streets saw him standing in the middle of the railroad tracks.

The officer watched Balmores stand in the way of the train, jumping away just as it got close to him. Balmores also tried to jump onto the train. A preliminary breath test revealed a blood-alcohol content level of 0.25 percent.


12:05 a.m. - Christopher Marcus Nicosia, 21, St. Paul, and Nicholas Adam Stevermer, 21, Easton, Minn., were cited for public urination after an officer saw them urinating in an alley on West Third Street.

12:47 a.m. - Christopher Levi Hoppa, 24, Oconomowoc, Wis., was cited for public consumption after an officer saw him holding a beer bottle near the intersection of Third and Lafayette streets.

12:58 a.m. - Matthew Jordan Graber, 18, Denver, was cited with underage consumption. An officer saw Graber run behind a building on the 100 block of West Third Street.

According to police, Graber had bloodshot eyes and smelled like alcohol. A preliminary breath test showed Graber's blood-alcohol content to be 0.156 percent.

Winona County


8:40 p.m. - Deputies arrested Glenn Peter Brown, 55, Winona, on suspicion of second-degree drunken driving following a traffic stop on County Road 25 west of Wyattville. A deputy was eastbound on County Road 12 when a westbound motorcycle driven by Brown passed the deputy's car then accelerated to 76 mph, according to the sheriff's department. A deputy pulled over Brown, who failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. His blood-alcohol level was 0.16 percent. Brown was convicted of drunken driving in 2007 and 2009, according to the sheriff's department.


12:15 a.m. - Deputies arrested Karen Kay Williamson, 56, on suspicion of domestic assault, causing fear, and fourth-degree drunken driving after deputies were called to a residence on County Road 3 near Nodine for a report of a woman who attempted to drive a truck through a garage door. Upon arrival, deputies found Williamson hiding in a bathroom closet, according to the sheriff's department. Her blood-alcohol level measured at 0.16 percent.
