No time -- Three EMS medical calls.

2:56 a.m. -- Smoke detector malfunction at the 100 block of East Third Street. Department opened and silenced the alarm.

Aug. 15

No time -- Six EMS medical calls.

8:08 p.m. -- At the 100 block of High Forest Street, there was an unauthorized burning. Upon the department’s arrival, there was a recreational fire with no screen and its position was too close to the building. The owner was cooperative and allowed the department to put the fire out. The owner was given a copy of recreational fire laws.

Aug. 16

No time -- Four EMS medical calls.

3:24 a.m. -- A cooking fire confined to a container broke out at a residence on the 300 block of Mankato Avenue. When the department arrived, responders saw a cooking pot burning on the stove. The house was charged with smoke and doors were locked and responders had to use force for entry. An ambulance was dispatched after the crew could not wake the occupant of the residence. After a minute he awoke with no apparent injuries.

10:22 p.m. -- Called to a motor-vehicle accident with injuries on Mankato Avenue.

Aug. 17

No time -- Five EMS medical calls.

Aug. 18

No time -- One EMS medical call.

7:07 a.m. -- Called to the 1400 block of West Broadway after people were stuck in an elevator.

6:19 p.m. -- Called to the 1500 block of Homer Road after a carbon monoxide detector malfunctioned.

Aug. 19

No time -- Five EMS medical calls.

Aug. 20

No time -- Four EMS medical calls.

6:28 p.m. -- Department called to a residence on the 600 block of Dacota Street to investigate a gas smell. Residents attempted to pre-heat the oven when they smelled natural gas and their smoke detector began chirping. The department determined the chirping was caused by a dying battery in the detector.

7:36 p.m. -- Department was called to the 500 block of Hilbert Street to check on a defective elevator.

8:06 p.m. -- Department responded to a car and bike accident on Ronald Avenue. The area was clear after the department had arrived.

Aug. 21

No time -- Three EMS medical calls.

9:40 p.m. -- Department responded to a motor vehicle and pedestrian accident on U.S. Hwy. 61.
