(2008/12/02) Holiday traditions are often started by pure error. On Thanksgiving, our family started what could possibly be a new tradition.
(2008/11/30) Every year it seems the holiday season is pushed upon us earlier and earlier. We shake our heads as Christmas cards and decorations take their places on store shelves before the trick-or-treating has begun.
(2008/11/23) A storm recently hit our home. This particular storm is one no emergency warning system could have prepared us for. This storm is the 2-year-old hurricane. The horror stories of the terrible twos seemed like a myth to me. My boys passed through the age without too much damage to our home or my nerves, but it is different with our youngest — our daughter.
(2008/11/09) I am looking forward to Wednesday. This day is not a birthday or an anniversary in our family.
(2008/11/02) A child’s perspective of money can be a humorous thing.
(2008/10/26) My computer has a spam blocker, a junk-mail folder, and for the most part, it keeps the advertisements for pornographic, pharmaceutical, and loan Web sites out of my inbox. However, because I participate in some parenting/family Web sites, my blockers don’t tend to keep out unwanted parenting advice from the experts, and I use that term loosely.
