Edwin A. Johnson Jr., 79, of Blair, Wis. passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Tri-County Hospital, Whitehall, Wis.
He was born July 26, 1933, in Demark, Wis. to Edwin and Elizabeth (Yanke) Johnson Sr.
Edwin was united in marriage to Cora Madland.
He served in the military most of his career, being part of the National Guards, United States Marines Corp, and the United States Army.
Edwin enjoyed sports, going to Green Bay Packer games, watching or listening to the news, fishing, driving and especially telling stories. He wrote many songs and was knowledgeable in all things that needed fixing (handyman).
He is survived by his wife, Cora; children, Edwin (Kathy) Johnson III, Mark, David, Joseph, and Debra; grandchildren, Edwin III, John, Jenny, Rebecca, Jesse, Mark Jr., August, Zachary, Elizabeth, David Jr., and Jessica; step grandchildren, Ashley and Christina; and other relatives and friends.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Edwin Sr.; grandchildren, Tiffani and Joseph Johnson Jr.; sister, Dolores Weaver; brothers, Norman, Windred, and Bernard Johsnon.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14 at Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, Wis. The Reverend Ben Newman officiated. Burial, with military honors, was in Riverside Cemetery, Black River Falls, Wis.
Family and friends were invited for visitation from 10 a.m. to service Friday at the funeral home.
Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home of Hixton assisted the family with arrangements.
