An Altura, Minn., said a "hot girl" told him to run from officers early Thursday as they tried to break up a fight outside a downtown Winona bar, police reported.
Gabriel David Muller, 22, was caught a short distance away and cited for fleeing police on foot and obstruction of the legal process.
According to police reports, an officer on patrol saw a fight "about to start" at 12:15 a.m. Thursday outside Gabby’s Bar, 179 E. Third St. He got out of his squad to break it up and Muller took off running, Deputy Chief Paul Bostrack said.
Another officer caught up to Muller and took him to the ground, Bostrack said.
According to reports, Muller told police he ran because a "hot girl" told him to. Muller also told the officers he "had fun running away" from them, Bostrack said.
Muller was cited and released.
