MONDOVI, Wis. — Esther B. Haugen, 93, of Mondovi died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi, with the Rev. Rolf Morck officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi and one hour before the service Friday at the church.

HOLMEN — Corey Jon Meyer, 23, of Holmen died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse due to an accident. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holmen Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Green Mound Cemetery, Holmen. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home in La Crosse and 10 a.m. to services Friday at the church.
Richard L. ‘Dick’ Bains II

RUSHFORD, Minn. — Richard L. “Dick” Bains II, 64, of Rushford, Minn., and formerly of Rochester, Minn., died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at his son’s home in Underhill, Wis.
Dick was born on Dec. 30, 1943, in Chicago, to Richard Reiland Bains I and Dawn (Ehlert) Bains. Being the son of a military man, Dick grew up living in many places throughout the United States. His family’s summer place at Berry Lake, Wis., is where Dick and his family considered home.
He received his masters degree in mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. On May 4, 1992, he married Roxi Colbenson in Rochester. Dick worked for IBM for nearly forty years, retiring as a distinguished engineer. In his spare time Dick enjoyed golfing, skiing, fly fishing, roller-blading, computers, the Green Bay Packers and, most importantly, spending time with his family.
During his years in Rochester, Dick was active in the youth hockey program there.
Dick is survived by his parents, Richard and Dawn Bains; his wife, Roxi; two sons, Richard Reiland Bains II and his wife Annette of Underhill, Wis., and Matthew (Becky) Bains of Deerfield, Wis.; two step-sons, Chad M. Roelofs and Mathew J. Roelofs both of Rochester, Minn.; five grandchildren, Kassandra A. Bains, Richard R. Bains III, Eliana B. Bains, Mara J. Bains and Lia T. Roelofs; two brothers, Patrick (Andrea) Bains, and Christopher (Debbie) Bains; and two sisters, Leighann Bains and Gretchen Anderson.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Brian Bains.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hoff Funeral Homes- Rushford Chapel with funeral celebrant Daryl Thompson officiating. Burial will take place in Gillett, Wis., in the spring. There will be visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes- Rushford Chapel.

Lester C. Cada
Lester C. Cada, 97, formerly of 150 Hamilton St. in Winona, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at
St. Anne Extended Healthcare.
He was born July 6, 1911, in Winona, the son of Chauncey and Emma (Mundt) Cada. He was united in marriage with Augusta C. “Gusty” Cierzan, on April 18, 1936, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Winona. Gusty preceded him in death on March 27, 1991.
Lester began his career in the newspaper business as a carrier for the Winona Republican Herald when he was in the fifth grade, and he also worked after school at the paper. On Jan. 1, 1931, Lester began a 45 and a half year career with the Republican Herald, and later the Winona Daily News, as a linotype operator. He retired from the Winona Daily News in July 1976.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Harvest House, the Polish Museum and the Redmen’s Club.
Lester is survived by special friends, Jerry and Mary Ann Sauerer, Winona; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Harold Cada; and sisters, Hazel Speltz and Dorothy Pozar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Our Lady at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.
Monsignor Roy E. Literski will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday in the Chapel of Our Lady at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.

Donald Kiedrowski

Owatonna, Minn./ Centerville, Wis. — Donald Kiedrowski, 57, passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2008, from heart complications.
He was born in Arcadia, Wis., on July 31, 1951.
Don grew up in Dodge, Wis. At age 13 (1964), his family moved to Centerville, Wis. He graduated from Trempealeau High School in 1969. He then went into the Navy. After military service, he work numerous jobs in the area. Then he moved to Owatanna, Minn., where he was an electrician for more than 30 years.
Don loved motorcycles, guns, knives and the outdoors. He spent time camping and catfishing on the Trempealeau River from his childhood through his adult life. He collected and repaired many Cushman scooters. Don, on his other motorcycles, competed in hill climbing events and in trials competitions.
Don is survived by seven siblings, Jeff (Irene), twin sister Donna (Bob) Hammond, Kim, Pat (Lisa), Eric (Gina), Heide (Tom) Harron and Holly (John) Henderson.
Don was preceded in death by his dad, Frank Kiedrowski Jr., in 2003.
To honor Don’s memory, there will be a celebration of his life at 4 p.m. Friday at the Sand Bar in Centerville. A military service will be held at 4 p.m.
