First cut what state spends on itself

State Sen. Sharon Erickson Ropes seems daunted by the task of paring down state spending, as is state Rep. Gene Pelowski.

Disappointing, but certainly expected, that her (their) initial concerns are directed toward (family) entitlements.
It seems sincere representatives would first review what the state spends on itself: Legislature, perks, vehicles, per diem, various bureaus, special offices and officers, personnel, salaries, fixed costs and so on.

As a matter of fact, it is, without a doubt, the prime time to change to a unicameral legislature and reduce government costs, before axing programs for citizens elected officials are elected to protect?
