Trailer rammed by van, hits house

.
A van crashed into a flatbed trailer parked on an Altura, Minn., street Tuesday, forcing the trailer into the side of a nearby house, the Winona County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Witnesses told police the driver of the van abandoned the vehicle in the middle of the street a block away and fled. Deputies are investigating the crash and are searching for the van’s registered owner.
Police reports indicate the 1999 Plymouth van was northbound on First Street Northeast in Altura at about 7:11 a.m. when it crashed into a flatbed-type trailer parked on the side of the road. The impact forced the trailer over the curb into the side of a home, ripping some wood siding off the building, Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude said.

The van was severely damaged, and officers found an empty beer can in the driver’s side of the vehicle, Ganrude said. He said the van’s license plates have been flagged as forfeited due to a past alcohol-related incident, but officers haven’t yet found the registered owner. No one was hurt in the crash.

" You can run but you can't hide Mr. registered-owner pants! I hope they get you and get you good. Drinking while driving at 7:10 am? When children are standing on corners waiting for school buses? Shame on you. I can't wait until they put you in the stocks and pillory and let the general public pelt you with garbage because that's what you are, garbage! Nuff said! "
