With both the ACORN methods and the Obama campaign methods apparently modeled upon the Saul Alinsky methods for radical-activist-engagement, including that the end justifies any means, one can only be left skeptical that the recount for the U.S. Senate race in Minnesota will be fairly conducted.
Will the end justify the means in Minnesota too?
Such skepticism is reinforced by my personal experience with recounts, participating both as a representative for candidates, and as a direct challenger. In one instance the recount team, including personnel from the Secretary of State’s office and attorneys for both candidates, arrived at a county courthouse only to find that precinct ballot storage envelopes that had been waxed-sealed and left in a storage room had been opened after being sealed, and left in that unsealed state.
We can only pray that election officials and others will preserve the integrity of the ballots, so that the true winner, regardless of party affiliation, can be certified.
Is it too much to expect that extraordinary precautions will be taken to preclude further erosion in the confidence of our elections?
