Minorities in Minnesota face greater odds of dying from violence, diabetes and heart disease and less chance of having health insurance. Nonwhite teens are more likely to get pregnant than their white peers.
The “Health Equality” conference happens Wednesday through Friday at Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake.
The Office of Minority and Multicultural Health at the Minnesota Department of Health is hosting.
Speakers include a former American Public Health Association president and a deputy assistant secretary for minority health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
