The dairy judging team of Jamie Woodard, Paul Johnson, Andrew Hornberg, Lincoln Tibor and Dan Marg placed third out of 30 teams. The team was led by Woodard, who placed 13th individually out of more than 280 judgers.
Lewiston won the contest with 1,239 points, followed by Randolph with 1,205 and Winona with 1,195.
The horse judging team of Mallory Jackels, Belinda Olson, Jessica Woodard and Melissa Boehmke placed second out of 20 teams. The team was led by Jackels, who placed 12th individually out of more than 302 judgers.
Chatfield won the contest with 917 points, followed by Winona with 903.
The state dairy and horse judging contests will be held in April on the UM-St. Paul campus.
