Arcadia/C-FC second at state

.
VERONA, Wis. — So maybe the Arcadia/Cochrane-Fountain City High School girls golf team couldn’t catch perennial power Madison Edgewood.

The Raiders still returned home Tuesday with a pretty nice reward: a state runner-up trophy.
Arcadia/C-FC, which is in its first year as a co-op team, finished second at the WIAA state championships held at University Ridge Golf Course. The Raiders shot 364 on Tuesday and finished with a two-day total of 737.

Madison Edgewood won its eighth straight Division 2 state title with a two-day total of 617.

Arcadia/C-FC senior Brooke Finner shot 7-over-par 79 on Tuesday and finished 12th with a two-day total of 169. Teammates Annette Foegen finished 20th with a two-day score of 182.

Janelle Dekan (186) and Becky Konkel (200) finished 23rd and 26th, respectively, for Arcadia/C-FC. Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau’s Melanie Truax finished 19th with 180.

Lindsay Danielson of Osceola earned medalist honors with a 1-under 143.
