Prep roundup: Falcons sweep P-E-M to remain unbeaten

PLAINVIEW, Minn. — Wabasha-Kellogg High School’s volleyball team remained unbeaten Tuesday night with a sweep of winless Plainview-Elgin-Millville.

The Falcons won by scores of 25-17, 26-24 and 25-10 in the Three Rivers Conference match.
Kate Speedling had 14 kills and Amanda Feils eight kills to lead W-K. Megan Leisen added 16 assists and two aces, while Katlyn Peters had 18 assists and Danielle Gernes 14 digs.

Nicole Haley had 16 digs, Megan Norton nine assists and five digs and Korie Dykes six kills for P-E-M.

Caledonia 3, L-A 0

LEWISTON, Minn. — Megan King had 17 kills in leading Caledonia to its 25th win of the season.

Aly Meyer had four blocks, 12 digs and five kills for the Warriors, while teammate Libby Augedahl had 20 digs, seven kills and two aces.

Judy Mundt had 12 assists and seven digs, Alyssa Franzen five kills, six digs and Clair Hess seven digs for Lewiston-Altura.

Three Rivers Conference

Chatfield 3, R-P 2


CHATFIELD, Minn. — Chatfield won the final two games to beat Rushford-Peterson.

Kenzie Lind led Rushford-Peterson with 20 kills, while Kaylee Helgemoe had 14 digs and Laura Rislove two aces.

Ashley VonWald had 11 kills and 10 digs for Chatfield. Morgan Bushman added 11 kills and Emily Miller five blocks.

Hiawatha Valley League

Triton 3, La Crescent 1


LA CRESCENT, Minn. — Kristin Vesel had 12 assists, while teammates Jackie Shuda and Katie Novak each had five kills for La Crescent.

Maddi Nerenhausen led Triton with 11 kills.

Southeast Conference

Spring Grove 3, Hope Lutheran 1


Jacey Anderson recorded 19 digs and 10 kills for Spring Grove, which won the final two games to beat the Patriots.

Stephanie Landsom added 16 digs and Jordan Olerud 13 digs for the Lions.

Felicia Meyer had 23 assists and Amanda Schwerzler and Madison Ludford six kills apiece for Hope Lutheran.

M-C 3, Houston 0

HOUSTON, Minn. — Mabel-Canton, ranked sixth in Class A, rolled to an easy win over Houston.

Dairyland Conference

C-FC 3, Alma 0


ALMA, Wis. — Erica Willadsen had a double-double with 21 kills and 11 digs to lead Cochrane-Fountain City.

Aubrey Fonfara added 11 digs and three blocks for the Pirates, while Katie Rothering had five digs and three aces.

Ali Ritscher had eight digs and Alex Johnson seven digs for Alma.

Independence 3, B-T 0

INDEPENDENCE, Wis. — Calla Nelson had 10 kills and five blocks and Caitlyn Marsolek added five aces to lead Independence over Blair-Taylor.

Whitehall 3, Gilmanton 2

WHITEHALL, Wis. — Stacey Johnson had 32 assists and three aces to lead Whitehall. Alonda Howard added 13 kills and three aces, while Bailey Sauerwein had 16 kills.

Viroqua 3, Arcadia 0

ARCADIA, Wis. — Maya Vazquez and Sarah Pronschinske each had six kills for Arcadia. Vazquez also added three blocks.

Kate Mulvaney-Kemp had 17 assists for Viroqua.

Boys soccer

La Crescent 8, Stewartville 0


LA CRESCENT, Minn. — Senior sweeper Tim Johnson scored his first, second and third goals of the year, while Erno Tiensuu had a pair of assists for La Crescent, which was up 6-0 at halftime.

The Lancers outshot Stewartville 10-2.

Caledonia 3, P-E-M 0

CALEDONIA, Minn. — It was a 0-0 game at halftime before Jordan Becker assisted on both Colin Gluch’s goals and, in between those, had a goal himself — assisted from Derek Beier.

Isaac Schiltz saved nine for Caledonia, which outshot Plainview-Elgin-Millville 12-6.
