Cheyenne Lynn Islam, 28, was referred to the Winona County Attorney’s Office for charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault.
According to the police report, officers were dispatched at 12:07 a.m. to the Northwood Lounge bar, 901 W. Fifth St., on a report of a fight. Islam’s 29-year-old sister said the two got into an argument, and Islam hit her in the face with a glass. Islam’s sister suffered a chipped tooth and was bleeding from the face when she spoke with officers. She drove herself to Community Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Witnesses confirmed the victim’s account of the assault, and police arrested Islam at the bar.
Islam has since been released from the Winona County Jail.
