Expect delays on Hwy. 14

Motorists traveling on Highway 14 between Stockton and Lewiston should expect a 15-minute delay in their commute beginning Monday, as crews begin excavation work at The Arches about three miles west of Stockton, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

One lane will be open to traffic for about one week and controlled by flaggers from dawn until dusk.
On Sept. 22, Highway 14 will be closed in both directions between Stockton and Lewiston. There will be detours on to County Road 25 and County Road 23. The highway will reopen by mid-November, weather permitting.

The project is designed to prevent rock slides in

the area. It is the final emergency contract resulting from the 2007 floods.
