Law enforcement says we don’t have the proper funds. Why is that do you think?
Maybe it’s because the mayor and council are so out of touch with reality or they just don’t care enough to properly fund law enforcement.
Open your eyes, Winona, home invasions are on the rise, and the leaders of the city seem to be asleep while it happens.
Fellow citizens of Winona, if your hopes of raising a family in a peaceful city are in Winona, you may be disappointed in the near future, if you’re not already fed up. I would urge this mayor and the next mayor to take steps toward increasing civil protections for your citizens.
I would propose a “civil defense fund.”
This fund would get its money from a 0.3 cent local sales tax over a six-year period. Most people would vote yes for the civil defense fund. Anybody could donate wealth to the fund in addition to the sales tax.
We would have another jail in no time, and more cops on the streets instead of thugs.
Something to think about in the next local elections. Local terrorism is on the rise, make no mistake about it. You have my yes vote for a civil defense fund! Would anybody else vote yes for such a fund?
