Marquette has focused on real estate since 2002 when it created a major that it says is the only commercial real estate program taught at Jesuit colleges and universities.
The university also created an endowed chair held by professor Mark Eppli. He will run the new Center for Real Estate in the College of Business Administration.
Eppli says the center will focus on undergraduate education, supplementing classroom assignments with club activities, site visits, job shadowing and mentoring.
The new center is entirely supported with money from more than 40 companies and individuals, mostly in commercial real estate.
