Man injured in motorcycle crash in Trempealeau County
By the Daily News staff
.
WHITEHALL — Jerry Thewis, 44, of Strum was injured in a motorcycle crash Saturday evening in the town of Hale, northwest of Whitehall in Trempealeau County. Authorities are still investigating the 7:55 p.m. crash in which Thewis failed to negotiate a curve while northbound on Roskos Road, according to the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department.
The motorcycle left the roadway and entered the southbound ditch before Thewis lost control of the vehicle and it tipped over, the sheriff’s department said. He then became entangled in the motorcycle and it came to rest. Thewis was taken by helicopter to Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis., for head and leg injuries, according to authorities. Information on his condition was not available Sunday.
