This is the second consecutive year WSU has been ranked in this category. Of the 15 schools on the list, only one other is in Minnesota. In addition, WSU is ranked 51 in the 2009 listing of the Midwest category of “Best Universities — Master’s.” Last year, WSU was ranked 52 and 62 in 2007.
Within the Master’s category, 71 colleges and universities are listed as top tier institutions in the Midwest region. Of those, only eight schools are located in Minnesota, and only three are public institutions.
U.S.News & World Report ranks 1,400 colleges nationwide, including 572 schools in the master’s universities category. The annual ranking of schools is available for review online at: www.usnews.com.
