The Duluth Transit Authority is upgrading seven bus stops in the city’s downtown area with heated shelters. And it’s not coming cheap.
The project costs $646,000, with most of the money coming in federal grants. With winter just a few months away, the additions will no doubt be welcome to those who use the bus stops on a regular basis. Overnight temperatures in the area are already starting to dip into the 40s, with daytime highs hovering in the low 70s.
