Tuesday
8:40 a.m. — A 21-year-old Winona man reported a break-in at his apartment in the 200 block of North Baker Street. He said he was out of the apartment between Aug. 26 and Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., and when he returned, he noticed someone had entered by removing a window near the door. A mirror was pulled off the wall, a glass ornament was damaged, a picture was broken and left in the backyard, and it appeared someone had been sleeping in the man’s bed. Nothing was missing and police have no suspects.
Wednesday
1:40 a.m. — A 31-year-old Winona woman went to the Law Enforcement Center and reported being assaulted by Scott Edward Brown, 37, of Winona, at a residence in the 500 block of East Fourth Street. She said he pushed her to the floor, grabbed her hair and slammed her head into the ground seven or eight times. When she tried calling police, she said Brown broke her cell phone. She suffered swelling above her right eye but did not need medical attention. Brown was arrested and held in jail pending charges of domestic assault and interfering with a 911 call.
7:43 a.m. — Someone reported a Sirius satellite radio and a wallet stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Valley Oaks Drive.
9:11 a.m. — Police received a report of an MP3 player and change stolen from a vehicle parked on Forest Oaks Court.
5:09 p.m. — A 59-year-old woman reported a small bag containing prescription drugs and $750 cash stolen from her unlocked apartment in the 750 block of East Belleview Street. She said the theft happened between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday. She was home at the time but didn’t hear anybody come in.
Thursday
2:01 a.m. — Police pulled over a black Ford Mustang speeding in the area of King and Center streets. The driver, Dustin Wade Jordan, 23, of Winona appeared intoxicated and was arrested. A breath test at the jail found his blood-alcohol concentration to be 0.10 percent; he was cited for misdemeanor drunken driving.

Tuesday
1:31 p.m. — A Nodine, Minn., woman reported culverts worth $879 lying along County Road 29 near County Road 2 south of Fremont, Minn., were stolen sometime between Aug. 23 and Tuesday.
10:41 p.m. — Stacy Ann Welter, 40, of Dakota, Minn., was stopped near the intersection of County Roads 104 and 7 northwest of Nodine for a stop sign violation. The deputy suspected she had been drinking and brought her to the jail, where a test found her blood-alcohol concentration to be 0.12 percent. She was referred to the county attorney’s office for charges of gross misdemeanor drunken driving.
The sheriff’s department had nothing to report Thursday.
