Michael Eugene Goodwin, 25, pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree sale of cocaine and one count of second-degree sale of more than three grams of cocaine. As part of a plea agreement, four charges of selling cocaine, two charges of selling marijuana and four assault charges were dropped by prosecutors.
Goodwin testified Thursday that he met with a police informant he knew as “Chicago” on Sept. 5 in the East Belleview housing complex near Mankato Avenue. Goodwin said he sold 3.45 grams of cocaine to the informant for $150. He said he met with “Chicago” on Sept. 6 and Sept. 14 at the housing complex and near Community Memorial Hospital, respectively, and sold the informant cocaine on both occasions. He did not specify how much cocaine or money was exchanged, except that he said it was “less than three grams.”
The plea agreement outlines a joint sentencing recommendation based on the Minnesota sentencing guidelines, which will put Goodwin in prison for between seven and nearly 10 years when he is sentenced Nov. 6.
Goodwin is the second-to-last suspect from the Operation Watchful Neighborhoods drug bust in October 2007 to be convicted. The last, Kwana Latrice Evans, 32, has not been located by police. A warrant has been issued for her arrest.

Do you honestly think alcohol isnt worse than pot, shrooms and LSD? Do you not see any point in my argument? I do not blame the people who sell drugs; I dont even blame the people who use drugs. I blame the people who use drugs and act a fool. I blame the criminal justice system for taking an approach that has failed miserably. The war on drugs is a failure. It is like digging yourself into a hole and asking for another shovel. "
