Wasinger finished sixth in 17 minutes, 13 seconds to pace the Ramblers sixth-place finish at the nine-team invite.
“It was a good time for her at the beginning of the season,” Cotter coach Dave Forney said. “She ran real comfortable. She’ll only get better from there.”
La Crescent won both the boys and girls races. La Crescent’s Molly Dunlap won the girls race in 16:26 to lead a 1-through-3 sweep for the Lancers. Taylor Gibson came in second in 16:29 and Carlye Guzman third in 16:47.
Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson’s Rachelle Ruberg took fourth in 16:57.
The Cotter boys team finished fourth.
“We’re pretty excited about it,” Cotter coach Mike Costello said. “It was a solid race. We ran well as a pack.”
L-A/R-P finished runners-up to the Lancers. G-E-T finished fifth.
Schaeffer Academy’s Joshua Dockter won the boys race in 16:43. Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau’s Nick Baer finished second in 16:49 and La Crescent’s Eric Veglahn third in 17:17.

Caledonia 3, Cotter 0
CALEDONIA, Minn. — Colin Gluch and Jordan Becker connected on all three goals for Caledonia.
Gluch scored on a Becker assist in each half and Becker scored on a Gluch assist in the first half.
Cotter (2-2) goalkeeper Jeff Czaplewski recorded 10 saves.
Girls soccer
Roch. Lourdes 4, Cotter 2
Cotter’s Sarah Spiten scored two minutes into the game, but visiting Rochester Lourdes answered back with three goals in the first half.
Renee Pecarina added a goal and Sarah Eichenberg made 23 saves in goal for the Ramblers.
Winona 2, Austin 2 (OT)
AUSTIN, Minn. — Winona got a
first-half goal from Emily Potter and went into halftime up 1-0.
After Austin tied it, Hannah Peterson gave WSHS the lead again, before another tying score.
Girls tennis
Roch. Lourdes 7, Cotter 0
State-power Rochester Lourdes, winners of 10 of the past 11 Class A state team titles, dropped just seven games in sweeping Ramblers.
Defending singles champion Alexa Palen defeated Cotter junior Allie Gernes 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while last season’s Class A singles runner-up Courtney Rust defeated Cotter senior Erica Hengel 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.

Rochester JM 3, WSHS 0
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Winona High dropped three close games in falling to Rochester John Marshall 25-21, 25-23, 25-20.
Hannah Norman had seven kills, two blocks and 14 digs for the Winhawks. Allison Martin added 13 assists and 15 digs and Shauna Mahoney had six kills and 12 digs.
