10:06 a.m. — A 41-year-old Sparta, Wis., man reported being assaulted by Wendy Janelle Donahue, 37, also of Sparta, at Riverport Inn at 900 Bruski Drive. He said they had an argument Tuesday night, and they stayed in separate rooms. Donahue allegedly pushed and slapped the man across the face the next morning in an unprovoked attack. She was arrested for domestic assault.

5:35 a.m. — Deputies were dispatched to Red’s Kitchen on Main Street in Altura, Minn., on a report of a burglary. A woman reported the window on the front door smashed and two packs of cigarettes missing. It appeared whoever broke in tried also unsuccessfully to get into a safe. Nothing else was missing. The sheriff’s department is investigating.
