Buffalo County equalized real estate value goes up

Real estate and personal property values in Buffalo County have risen 6.57 percent in the past year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.

Total equalized value of real estate in Buffalo County is now figured at $986,503,800, up $61.3 million, an increase of 6.63 percent. Equalized values are based on the full market value of all taxable property.
Taxable personal property value was listed at $13.16 million, up $283,000, a 2.2 percent increase, the revenue department reported.

The total equalized value for Buffalo County was $999,667,600, up $61.6 million.

Wisconsin’s equalized value statewide for real estate was up three percent, an increase of $15 billion to a total $502 billion.

Statewide land values were up $4.6 billion and improvements increased $10.9 billion. Ag forest land value gained the most, up 8 percent.

Rural towns in Buffalo County were valued at $639,614,600, an 8.54 percent increase amounting to $50.3 million.

Villages were at $43.4 million, up $173,000, a 0.4 increase, and cities in Buffalo County were equalized at $316,640,700, a 3.63 percent increase of $11 million.

According to the revenue department:

- Mondovi, the largest value municipality in Buffalo County, was valued at $142,659,600, a 1.96 percent increase of $2.73 million.

- Among the cities, Fountain City jumped the most, rising 9.43 percent. The city’s new value is $49.68 million, up $4.28 million.

- Buffalo City is now at $71.8 million, a 4.76 percent increase of $3.26 million.

- Alma is at $52.49 million, a 1.58 percent increase of $814,800.

- Cochrane equalized value is $24.27 million, a 0.50 percent increase of $119,900

- Nelson is at $19.13 million, a 0.28 percent increase of $53,300.

Among towns in the county, double digit equalized value increases were registered in the towns of Alma, Canton, Cross, Dover, Lincoln, Maxville, Modena, and Nelson.

Values by town included:

- Alma, $38.08 million, up $4.99 million, 15.09 percent

- Belvidere, $47.61 million, down $634,200, 1.31 percent decrease

- Town of Buffalo, $58.04 million, up $3.5 million, 6.42 percent

- Canton, $24.10 million, up $2.35 million, 10.84 percent

- Cross, $33.57 million, up $3.64 million, 12.17 percent

- Dover, $31.08 million, up $3.56 million, 12.94 percent

- Gilmanton, $36.16 million, up $2.69 million, 8.06 percent

- Glencoe, $32.65 million, up $1.59 million, 5.14 percent

- Lincoln, $24.46 million, up $4.34 million, 21.59 percent

- Maxville, $32.36 million, up $3.77 million, 13.20 percent

- Milton, $46.77 million, up $4.08 million, 9.57 percent;

- Modena, $28.25 million, up $2.86 million, 11.27 percent

- Mondovi, $33.81 million, up $1 million, 3.08 percent

- Montana, $27.58 million, up $1.75 million, 6.77 percent

- Naples, $40.08 million, up $2.37 million, 6.29 percent

- Nelson, $63.69 million, up $6.89 million, 12.13 percent

- Waumandee, $41.23 million, up $1.52 million, 3.84 percent.

Equalized value in Trempealeau County was up 5.12 percent and was up in La Crosse County 1.78 percent. Equalized valued of the 19-county western district in Wisconsin was up 2.76 percent.
