Gary D. Huntbatch, 64, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Community Memorial Hospital in Winona. Gary was born Dec. 29, 1943, in Hampton, Iowa, to Edward and Zella (Rucker) Huntbatch. He married Kay Hall on Oct. 1, 1966, in Crystal Lake, Ill. Gary had worked in Minneapolis for Land of Lakes Creamery Inc. and had worked as an assistant traffic manager. In Winona, he had worked at Hiawatha Produce and Kujak Trucking, where he was a general manager, owned and operated his own trucking company, CRX Trucking, and most recently had been working for Land America as a tax researcher. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winona and the Elks Club in Goodview. Gary was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan, who loved spending time with his grandchildren, having cook outs and taking trips up north.
Gary is survived by his wife, Kay; son, John (Janelle) of Ely, Minn.; daughter, Andrea (Rob) Monk of Minnesota City; grandchildren, Jordan and Jace Huntbatch and Lleyton and Logan Monk. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Funeral services are planned for Friday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Green officiating. Burial will be Saturday in Lindenwood Cemetery in Geneva, Iowa.
Friends may call Thursday at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Friday. The Winona Elks Club will have a memorial service for Gary at 7:30 p.m.Thursday at the funeral home.

Naomi Ruth Gille

TREMPEALEAU, Wis. — Naomi Ruth Gille, 81, of Washington and formerly the Trempealeau area, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, in Washington.
She was born April 4, 1927, in Bristol, England, to William and Emily (Pigeon) Lee. On Feb. 28, 1945, she married Frank Gille. She left her family and home in England to join Frank in America. Now she has left her family to join him once again.
Ruth lived many years on the farm in the Fountain City, Wis., area. The couple moved to Trempealeau in 1967 and became charter members of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Galesville, Wis. Later in life, she enjoyed working for the wildlife refuge in Trempealeau.
Survivors are four daughters, Elizabeth (Bruce) Bennett of Brazoria, Texas, Judith (Charles) Wamsley of Bangor, Wis., Caroline (Thomas) Gruenwald of Adams, Wis., and Theresa (Stephen) Furlan of Edgewood, Wash.; two sons, Paul (Susan) Gille and Christopher (Tammy) Gille, both of Wichita Falls,Texas; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Smith of England; and her special friends from Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, of 53 years; an infant daughter and a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Bennett.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m. from Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Galesville, with the Rev. Nathan Strutz officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Fountain City Public Cemetery, Fountain City, Wis.
Friends may call at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time.

Stephen S. Miller

SPRING, TEXAS — Stephen S. Miller, 59, of Spring, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at his home.
He was born Sept. 13, 1948, in Grand Island, Neb., to John T. and Marjorie Stirneman Miller. He graduated from Winona Public Schools, attended Oklahoma State University and graduated from Winona State College.
Stephen was employed for many years by 3M Corp. He was later employed by Lowes Home Improvement in Houston, Texas, and most recently at Spring Chrysler Jeep Dodge Inc. in Spring. Stephen had a love of sports and was an excellent athlete.
Survivors include his sister, Marni, and her husband, Charles of Palm Coast, Fla.; his aunt, Judith Eliot of Edina, Minn.; cousins include Mary Jay Stirneman of Winona, Arthur Stirneman of Kellogg, Minn., Gregory Eliot of Key West, Fla., Mark Eliot of Cape Coral, Fla; and Andrea Henrich of Leawood, Kan. He is also survived by many wonderful friends.
A graveside service will be in Winona in the fall.
Because Stephen had a fondness for animals, memorial donations may be made to the Winona Area Humane Society, 1112 E. Broadway, Winona, MN 55987.
Thomas A. Pietsch
Thomas A. Pietsch, 70, of Deer Park, Wis., and formerly of Winona died Dec. 14, 2007, at his home.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona.
