Seen my cane?

.
When I settled in at church on Sunday, a friend asked: “Where is your cane?” Well, I don’t know. Thursday evening I left it at the cash register in Timbers. When I came back for it a half-hour later it was nowhere to be found. When I get engrossed in something I can completely forget that I need the cane.

This is in no way comparable to the theft of the electric wheelchair at a Twins game a short time ago, but there is a similarity. In both cases someone’s selfishness was more important than the obvious need of another person. Original Sin is alive and well in the human psyche.
I made my rustic cane from a section of lodgepole pine, and carved and painted some simple designs on it. As I moved around town, a fair number of people commented on how nice it was. If anyone has information about it, I can be reached at Saint Mary’s University.
