Fall sports practices in Minnesota begin Monday, meaning games and tournaments are right around the corner.
In fact, Cotter High School’s girls tennis team will be the first city team to compete, when it hosts a four-team tournament
Aug. 20.
Joining the Ramblers will be Cretin-Derham Hall, Rochester John Marshall and South St. Paul with matches set for 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.
The following day three Winona Senior High School teams kick off their seasons. The boys soccer team hosts La Crescent at 7 p.m., while the girls swimming and tennis teams both compete at Mankato West.
Football games begin
Aug. 29, and the Winhawks open the season at home against Maple River. WSHS snapped its 37-game losing streak last season with a
