Wednesday
2:20 a.m. — Officers were dispatched to a home in the 600 block of East Second Street on a report of an intoxicated and out-of-control 17-year-old boy. The boy got into an argument with his mother about a Playstation3 video game system and started punching the walls and throwing items around the house. When police arrived, the boy left the house and jogged across the street. The boy was told to stop several times and ran back to his house. Police tackled him in the doorway and handcuffed him. A portable breath test found his blood-alcohol concentration to be 0.201 percent, and he was cited for underage drinking, obstruction and fleeing police on foot.
6:35 p.m. — Police cited Christopher Stuart Glander, 18, of Alma, Wis., for shoplifting when he was caught stealing Red Wolf fishing lures worth 99 cents at Fleet Farm.
10:02 p.m. — Lawrence Frank Gora, 48, of Winona was stopped in the area of Fifth and Harriet streets after driving through a red light at the intersection of Broadway and Franklin Street. Gora appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested. A breath test at the jail found his blood-alcohol concentration to be 0.12 percent. Gora was referred to the county attorney’s office for charges of gross misdemeanor drunken driving, no proof of insurance and running a red light.
Thursday
12:17 a.m. — Police were dispatched to an apartment in the 1700 block of Kraemer Drive on a report of a trespasser. Marcus LaMont Weston, 27, of Winona was cited for trespassing and left when police asked him to. This was Weston’s third trespassing ticket at that location since last fall.
Friday
1:08 a.m. — Mandy Mae Kowalewski, 26, was stopped on the Interstate Bridge for speeding and driving over the centerline. Kowalewski was cited for misdemeanor drunken driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.15 percent and released.
Winona County
Wednesday
9:55 p.m. — A deputy saw a van nearly stop on Old Homer Road with its left turn signal on despite having nowhere to turn left. The deputy turned around and stopped the van as it pulled into a driveway on the right side of the road. The driver, Jonathon David Peterson, 42, of Stockton got out and walked toward the deputy, saying, “You got me.” Peterson had slurred speech and failed field sobriety tests. He refused to take breath tests at the scene and at the jail. He was arrested and referred to the county attorney’s office for charges of felony drunken driving and test refusal.
