Hospitals & Health Networks magazine’s 100 most-wired hospitals list cited Winona Health’s successful implementation of electronic medical records, computerized provider order entry code and off-site birthing monitoring systems.
“For many years, we’ve been using the power of technology to improve community health care, and we’re pleased to be recognized again for being at the leading edge of this transformation,” Winona Health CFO Mike Allen said in a statement. “From increasing patient access to information and using technology in our clinical areas, to connecting health care providers through electronic medical records, we continue to implement new technology to improve patient care.”
Community Memorial Hospital was also recently featured in a national PBS NewsHour story about health care information technology.
Marking its 10th year, the most wired study leads the field in analyses and benchmarking of health care information technology.
The survey, which is featured in Hospital & Networks’ July issue, focused on how the nation’s hospitals use information technologies for quality, customer service, public health and safety, business processes and workforce issues.
The 100 hospitals listed showed better outcomes in patient satisfaction, risk-adjusted mortality rates and other key quality measures through the use of information technology, according to a new analysis.
