Cotter Band earns first place in two parades

The Cotter Band marched to a first-place finish in the band’s first competitive appearance of the season at the Albertville, Minn., “Friendly City Days” Parade on June 15.

The band earned another first-place finish June 20 in the Lake Crystal Battle of the Bands in Lake Crystal, Minn., and placed second in the Lake Waconia Band Festival Parade in Lake Waconia, Minn., on June 21.
The band then returned home to march in the Winona Steamboat Days Parade on June 22.

Its next competitions are Friday in the Rochesterfest Parade in Rochester, Minn., Saturday in the Osseo Band Festival Parade in Osseo, Minn., and Sunday in the Alexandria Vikingland Festival of Bands in Alexandria, Minn.
